The difference between a moment of clarity and continued foolishness is often determined less by facts or figures, and more by the state of the heart processing such information. Case in point, a normally meticulous theologian admits that “there isn’t a single word in Scripture” in support of a theory that restricts the purpose of spiritual gifts to a completed moment in history, and then in the next sentence claims that such a theory is biblically sound. Even if one were not inclined to listen to the voice of God that continues to speak today and resigned themselves solely to a carnal and intellectual study of scripture, such a statement should be reason to significantly question the experiential and superficial basis of a Cessationist view. ~adapted from Bojidar Marinov
